Church Sandstone Exterior Cleaning
M J Painting loves church painting. With over 50 years of experience in painting interior and exteriors of churches.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Smethport called us. They had a buildup of mold and mildew on their sandstone exterior. After our initial site visit, we also noticed that the soffit and louvers on the bell tower needed a little work as well.
For the sandstone we applied a special bleach wash, then power washed cleaned. Final step was applying a water repellant to prevent future mold and mildew and preserve the integrity of the sandstone surface.
For the Bell tower, we replaced the aluminum soffit and prepared and painted the louvers.
Adam Evans was the foreman on this project, and he was assisted by Tom Evans (he’s the guy in the man lift). They used a 66’ man lift which enabled them to reach around the entire bell tower structure.
Check out the before and after pictures on this job. St. Luke’s is a beautiful church and MJP was proud to be part of this project.
