MJP Expansion – A Message From Mike John Sr.

It has been a busy 2024-2025 and now that the dust has settled, I’d like to share our latest news.
Coming off a major expansion in 2016 at 291 Homer St in Olean, NY, we then had the opportunity in 2018 to invest in a vacant parcel around the corner at 350 Franklin St. In 2024 we completed site development and building construction. This $1.5 million expansion brings our total campus to approximately 13 acres and 6 Buildings.

Our latest building is 50’ x 172’ and houses an office & break room as well as a 2-bay mechanic maintenance & repair area with an 18,000 lb. heavy duty lift for our fleet of 19 trucks, air compressors, skid steers, utility vehicles, forklift trucks and 12 combined cargo and flatbed trailers.

There’s a much-needed semi-automated truck wash bay with the remaining 5 bays for equipment storage. We also installed a bulk fuel depot that gets our field crews off and running a lot quicker each day making us more efficient.

With the support of the Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency, City of Olean Mayor’s Office, Community Development, Planning Board, Code Enforcement, as well as the Department of Public Works, we took a 50+ year old vacant lot and partnered with ExxonMobil and the NYS DEC to clean up the remnants of the Socony Vacuum Oil Company tank farm. This led to the expansion of our MJP Energy Services Division. We have fenced off five acres of the western half for MJP future development and another 5 acres for private development.

When we settled on Homer St in 2002, it was quiet. As I drive around today from the eastern end of Franklin St. wrapping around to Johnson St. and onto Homer St., a lot of development has taken place in the last 23 years! We are happy to be a part of the Olean Business Community and bring some light to the Homer Hill Area.
